TRAIL DESCRIPTION: The trail start is situated in Almonaster la Real, in the road HU-8105, between Alájar and Cortegana, at the end of the Aparicio Street. There are a a rocky road between two walls that indicate the start of the trail.
The trail is divided in 5 steps:
  • ·         Mill Step: When we begin to walk in the rocky road, in 100m there is a flat square where there is an old watermill


  • ·         Precipice Step: As soon as we continue, in the trail start to appear a lot of zigzag the next intersection, we continue in the left branch.



  • · Chestnut step: In this step the walls disappear and there appear a lot of trees. This step is really beautiful in autumn because the trees have got leaves and fruits like pines, chestnuts… etc, After we cross it, we arrive to the “Puerto de las Encrucijadas”


  • ·         Summit Step: In this part of the trail there are a lot of road, but we must take the narrow right road. When we arrive to the up, there are a lot of roads again, and we must take the right road. In this road we must go up to the upper point and the scenary is amazing. We can see a lot of villages and ranges.


  • ·         Descent Step: The descent is very abrupt, so we must be careful. We go to a road and we left it when we see a curve.
     ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: At the begging of the trail there is a restaurant called La Palmera

    OBSERVATIONS: It is forbid to catch animal, make fire, to fish and pick up plants

     OTHER ACTIVITIES:Aerobic dance, gym, swimming
     CULTURAL AND LANDSCAPE ASPECTS: The origins are at the Roman times and there are muslim building
     PREDOMINANT FLORA, FAUNA AND LAND: In the high we can see a lot of birds like robins, nightmares, gales and blackbird, depend of the station. During the travel there are holm oak, cork oak, pines and chestnut.
